Hair Envy: Sarah Neely
Name: Sarah Neely
Hometown: Starkville, MS (Yes, we have style! lol)
How long have you been living The Cut Life?
I have been living “The Cut Life” for three years.
What are your go-to hair essentials for maintaining your cut & style?
I really don’t have any hair go-to hair essentials because I suck at doing hair. I can think of ideas of how I want my hair styled, but I can’t do it myself so I go to my beautician Ashley McCollum (@purpleraethestylist). I know that’s bad, but I’m truly the worst at styling hair.
What are your beauty and makeup must have products?
My must haves are my nude lipsticks, Kat Von D concealer, and Anastasia Dip Brow. Yes, I can’t go without wearing it because I suck at not going all the way out when applying makeup. Like either, I wear a full glam look or I don’t wear any at all. There is no in between.
What is your current occupation and what are your career goals and aspirations?
I am a celebrity fashion stylist, consultant, and fashion blogger. I work in retail currently and I’m also a full-time blogger. My goals are to market my fashion blog “Born Freely” as a lifestyle and not just a brand. My goal is to grow into the best celebrity fashion stylist and editorial stylist in the world.
I want my blog to be internationally known for making an impact on single mothers and young teenagers who are trying to find themselves. I plan on launching an online retail company “Naked Truth” this summer as well so be on the lookout for that!
What is a hobby or interest that people would be surprised to know you have?
I love to go to thrift stores and just put looks together and leave so others can purchase them. It’s really fun and I go back the next day to see if it has been purchased and it usually is.
What quote or piece of advice do you live by?
My Born FREELY’S quote: “Live free, be free, speak free, think free, dress free.”
No matter who you are, be yourself, live your life for you, do what makes you happy, follow your dreams and focus on your goals. Don’t worry if anyone likes you or want you to be something else. Be free!
What would you say to a woman who is thinking about cutting her hair for the first time?
Cut it! Cut it! Cut it! (Sorry, I started thinking about Future song!) It’s your hair ladies. You can cut it, color it, or add on to it. If it’s something you want to do then do it for you and only you. It’s just hair!
