In The Cut Life’s previous segments we discussed great hairstyles that match well with your face shape. But did you know there was a set eyebrow shape that correlates to your face as well? Who knew right?

There’s no need to fear — every shape isn’t for everyone, so put down those tweezers girl and grab your and pencil and pad! Snatched Eyebrows 101 is now in session!

A round face usually translates to a long and often wide face that can be best complimented by brows that are high and nicely arched. The sharp angles of the brows elongate the face. A quick tip: Don’t over-tweeze your brows to get the sharp angle.

Square Face

Sharp edges + defined jawline = thick and soft arched brows! Yes, I said it thick and strong arch are the perfect match for this face shape. The combination of both softens the lines of the face. Often you can pass for a strong arched brow but with this face, stay away from round and flat eyebrows that exaggerate the shape rather than highlight. A quick tip: Don’t be afraid to go darker with your brow. That doesn’t mean you need to go grab that black eyebrow pencil (put it down!). Darker brown shades work best.

Oval Face

The oval face is known to be perfectly proportionate. Because of this, you really can’t go wrong when it comes to the shades and sizes. The brow for this face shape should be a soft angular arch that stretches out to your temples. A quick tip: Have fun with the shades and sizes but don’t go overboard and create an overly surprised brow. No one wants to appear to look shocked and awed.

Heart Face

This face shape is popularly known for one special feature, the pointed chin. Because of this, the goal brow to have is round, soft, and easy going brows that cling to your brow bone. A quick tip: There is no need to go crazy with shaping your brow because you want to distract the focus from being on your forehead. A nice clean line underneath your brow will do just fine.

Diamond Face

Narrow shape in the forehead area and a strong jawline pairs perfectly with a curved yet dramatic eyebrow that catches attention. A quick tip: Stay away from flat line brows, not only do they sound boring but they don’t benefit your face shape at all.
