2016 Billboard Music Awards beauty & fashion recap
One of the biggest music events of the year happened last night, and although there were some fails (Sorry, Madonna), many of our cut life favorites strutted and slayed their way down the Billboard Music Award’s famous pink carpet. Here’s some of our favorite looks!
Bad Gal RiRi showed her sultry side with choppy bob and piecey bangs, and she paired it with soft, bronzy-green makeup that showed off her famous, hazel eyes. According to Fashion Bomb Daily, RiRi topped off the subdued look with a 1988 vintage brown blazer button-up dress from Thierry Mugler. Rihanna was clearly feeling the 80s since she sported another Mugler look for her performance — a 1980 green fur marabou tuxedo blazer.
2016 is clearly Ciara’s “glo up” year, as she’s been owning every red carpet, event and magazine cover she’s been on this year. CiCi wore a number of various looks throughout the evening for her hosting duties, but one of the best ones was a slinky, silver dress by Phillipp Plein that gave major side-boob tease. Her tousled bun and heavy bangs perfectly capped off the look, and can definitely be modified for cut life stunners. Her hairstylist, Cesar Ramirez created the look with MIZANI Foam Wrap and HRM, and Bunny&Skull hair clips for some extra va-va-voom.
The first time I heard of Halsey was for her makeup collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, but after last night, I’ll be sure to keep an eye on this stunner for her killer hair and makeup looks. Although she seems to rock straight hair most of the time, Halsey decided to embrace her natural, curly locks for BBMA. She kept her face youthful and glowy, and let her one-of-a-kind Fausto Puglisi astronomy inspired dress take center stage.
After being lambasted on social media for her sans-makeup look on Snapchat, Keke took to the pink carpet to remind her haters that she looks good natural AND glam. Keke spiced up her signature undercut and bangs by twisting up the back of her hair into a messy top knot, and she sealed the deal with her bordeaux-colored latex dress by House of Harlot.
Demi Lovato is proving she’s way beyond her Disney days with her edgy, dark brown bob, purple smokey eye and lacy bralette-inspired top, tweed jacket and high-waisted trousers courtesy of Chanel. Although she’s pledged to never attend the Met Gala again, I think we can bank on her strutting down the BBMA carpet next year.
