Heart Face – Best Haircuts & Hair Tips

By  |

Last year, we posted “The best haircuts for your face shape,” and our cut life stunners flooded our Instagram and blog with questions and requests for more hairstyles to fit their specific face shape. Some of my fellow bloggers have already given the low-down on oval and square face shapes, but I’m here to give you the deets on the sweetest face shape of them all — heart.

Heart-shaped faces are wider than they are long, and the jawline tapers down to a pointed chin. It’s also said that people with “true” heart-shaped faces have a widow’s peak. Still not sure if you have a heart-shaped face? Compare your face to famous sweethearts Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, Victoria Beckham and Reese Witherspoon.

Stunners who have heart-shaped faces may want to take attention away from their prominent chins with fierce bangs or soften up it with beachy waves. Here are a few styles that can add some spice to your shape.

Blunt bangs:

Bangs will take the attention away from your pointy chin and refocus it to your gorgeous eyes. Blunt bangs are a simple, sophisticated style that will smolder day and night.

Swide-swept bangs with a deep part:

If blunt bangs aren’t your cup of tea, go for a soft, side-swept bang with a deep part. Again, the bangs and the part will refocus the attention to your eyes and killer cheekbones. Use a little texturizing spray to get a “I woke up like this” look.

The Lob:

This hairstyle seems to work for every face shape, but it works especially well for heart shapes because it can soften the jawline.

The Pixie:

Halle Berry made this style iconic and it works perfectly with her heart-shaped face. Go for a more “piecey” pixie with plenty of layers and dimension to cut down the wideness of your forehead and pull the attention upwards. Also, this style can easily be remixed for naturals who want to rock their curls!

Asymmetrical bob:

This style is perfect for the ladies who want to play up their prominent chin, rather than soften it out. The sharpness of an asymmetrical bob will sharpen your jawline and make it look like it could cut butter.

Remember — all of these styles can be spiced up with undercuts, highlights and bold colors just in time for spring.

What hairstyles would you add to the list? Let me know in the comments below, stunners!
